This site is a tribute to Eric Howarth, who was born in Manchester on August 04, 1929 and spent most of his life living in Standish.
Eric was the devoted Husband of Shirley, Father to Margery, Grandad, Great Grandad & Uncle.
Having spent many years working at Heinz and being an active member of the Royal British Legion, the Labour Party & St Wilfrid’s Church community, he was both well known and respected.
It was Eric’s wish that any donations in his memory were made to Alder Hey Children’s hospital, which saved the life of his youngest great grandson who was born with a number of congenital heart defects and is thankfully now a thriving toddler.
A kind and generous man, he is much loved and will always be remembered.
2 years without our grandad. We miss you xx
In memory of a wonderful Grandad, full of tricks, truly one of a kind. We will miss you but never forget you.
We will miss seeing you zooming down the street. The image of you wearing your hat, looking very dapper will always make us smile. A true gentleman! R. I. P Eric. x
